Transport Companies Love New GPS Devices
New GPS devices are giving vehicle fleet companies more power than ever before. Sat Navs and GPS tools of old could only let the driver know about their locations, which directions to take and speed etc. New GPS tools however are a great deal more powerful and can send this information out to a receiving computer anywhere on earth, which is pretty neat. A taxi company or travel company for instance would benefit enormously. Here we take a closer look at what they can do
Speeding. Not only can they tell the driver how fast the vehicle is going, but they can also tell an operator. Some devices can show if the driver is accelerating or breaking too aggressively. What this means is that good drivers can be rewarded and bad drivers given warnings
Petrol. Stats released by Jump The Sun show that drivers, especially in the taxi trade, would claim petrol money from their employers for miles that were covered whilst not on work hours. The tachometer could always be looked at but this only showed the miles traveled and doesn’t say when and where. Now however, there can be no arguments as employer can see the exact route drivers took, when they took it and at what speed. They can even pick up traffic reports
Location. Drivers can get to a new location much faster and more efficiently when their locations are mapped by a central operator. Calls don’t now have to put out to all drivers to discover their current position, the operator can simply check their computer and dispatch the vehicle which is closest.

Have You Suffered Delays From The Snow?
A lot of the time it can be very hard to get into work because of the snow or something like that but the real question to ask is, do people just make excuses on why they cannot get in or are they really stuck in the snow?
If you have a smaller car or perhaps rely on the wonderful public transport you will know how difficult getting in can be in the snow, this is why a boss should actually not be cross if someone cannot get in because of this. so if someone like this is calling you up I wouldn’t bother shouting at them because the chances are, they cannot do anything about the weather.
What about the people with the big cars? There are simply no excuses at all for getting into work if you have a 4 by 4 unless of course the snow is very high, what is the likelihood of that. As well as this if you live around an hours walk away from the home why do you not simply walk in? That’s what I had to do a couple of times last week and there is really no excuse unless you have problems with walking of course.
Of course you could always go after something like large van lease or you could find yourself in need of pickup lease when your car gets stuck in the snow!
next time it snows it would really be wise to think about if you can get in or not. Not getting in means that your company are one person down and if you cannot work at home the chances are you are costing them a lot of money.
Failing not getting in by yourself why not look at getting minibus leasing.
Why is Forza 3 A Good Game?
With Forza 3 being released last month I thought it would be a good idea to talk about why it is easily the best driving game experience that has ever been made.
Forza 3 is of course a follow up to the Forza and Forza 2 games and features over 400 cars which can all be customised built from 50 manufacturers as well as holding over 100 race track variations from across the world. The car detail in this game has been heavily improved upon with 10 times more polygons been put into each one since Forza 2.
The New Bits
Apart from the graphics and the hundreds of cars that have been added into the game, there are other new improvements within the game too. The in car driving view is something that has been wanted in this game since the first Forza and is something that I am using a lot. Another great thing is the fact that you can have one button assisted driving and full vehicle rollover with heavy details on the undercarriages. Real simulation drifting and SUVs have been added into the series too. It is quite possible that you can paint all of the cars in the game to your very own design as well as upload them onto the Forza site.
The game actually comes within two discs but do not worry you never have to change them over. The second disc is there for the reason of keeping 104 cars on it and a few extra tracks all which once installed are held on the console. The season mode can not be faulted at all as it features a personal racing calender that includes way over 200 events including oval, circuit, drift, drag and timed events. It has been said that no two calendars will be the same.
In reality a car does not always have to be expensive, Honda Contract Hire can be a good way to do things. This can also be done in the form of Audi leasing as well as leasing vans.
Why Do Police Look Out For White Vans?
It would seem that the white van is the main van that the police track for criminal activity but why is this?
Well to start with, over the past few years the white van has been the accomplice to many criminals from burglaries and theft to abductions and even rape. What is the reasoning behind criminals choosing a white van?
Well over the years the vehicle of the criminal has changed and it would seem that the modern times have chosen the white van. These two are just some of the vehicles that people have been using for crime over the past few years.
Ford V8 B-400
This surely has to be the the most famous of all of the crimnal cars because this is the model that Bonnie and Clyde used for their crimes. This car is was also very popular with the mafia at the time so it has to be the top of the list really.
1966 Chevrolet Impala
This was the choice of a deadly serial killer back in the 1960’s. No one actually knows who the murderer is because he was only ever known by the car. The only people that he went for were in cars themselves. It was reported by several victims and also drawn out several times. He murdered five people and attempted to do it to another seven.
It would certainly seem that the times change over the years and that criminals are always looking for a certain vehicle in which they can use to help them commit crimes. The van seems to be chosen because it is suitable for any criminal activity which is the only downside to the vehicle.
On the other side of the argument, vans have really helped the world as they help millions of people every single day. commercial vehicle leasing has helped even further by providing affordable means of getting hold of a van. fiat van leasing and Volkswagen van leasing are just some of the options out there to choose from.
Vans Are Important For Mail
Without the vans that the post office have it is true to say they would be in even bigger trouble than they are now. The Royal mail seems to be in complete ruins so the question to ask is, how on earth do they manage to deliver all of the mail on a normal day, let alone the day in which they are on strike. Here is how it is really meant to work.
Well what is supposed to happen is that the postman will receive a load of letters and parcels to deliver to the various roads he has been assigned to. Once the postman gets to a point on his route he will stop and wait for the van to come to him. When this van arrives they will unload the next set of mail for the worker to take into the next toads he has been given to work on. Why is the post never on time?
The time is actually something that is important here. A lot of the time postman are not allowed to start as early as they used too which is why we do often not get out post until the later hours of the day. This is actually rather terrible as in the old days you used to recieve two lots of post in the same day. This was actuallythe entire purpose of 1st and 2nd mail. The 1st was designed to always get to you before you left to go to work in the morning.
Nowadays you are lucky to get it before you get home.
With more postal strikes occurring, businesses have finally realised that the Royal Mail are not up to the job. It would seem the only person with faith in the company is the Queen and in today’s society, is there anyone that cares what she thinks?
Would it be easier for smaller company’s to look into getting van leasing UK or van contract hire to get ahead of the Royal Mail? Commercial vehicle leasing has allowed many people to start up businesses because it would seem it is cheaper than buying the vehicle outright.
Aavans.com Crash Testing Wheelchair Vans
Aavans.com Crash Testing and Wheelchair Vans
The mobility industry is an interesting one, for many reasons, but mainly because it’s somewhat elusive. What I mean is that information is sometimes difficult to gather. For this post, I will concentrate on crash testing because it is interesting to look at differences between buying a regular vehicle and buying a converted van for wheelchair accessibility.
When you shop for a regular vehicle, let’s say a Honda Odyssey minivan, do you question whether the vehicle has passed all the government safety requirements? Probably not, I never have.I have purchased 4 cars in my life and never once asked if the vehicle had been crash tested. It is something I think the majority of us just assume, that the vehicle we are buying has been crash tested, and has passed.
Did you know that all modifiers of vehicles, like VMI, have to re-crash the vans we build after they are modified. Since we change the structure of the original vehicle, by cutting off the floor, NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) requires the van be crash tested again.
When you are shopping for wheelchair accessible vans, ensure the van you are looking at passes all NHTSA crash test requirements. This especially becomes important when shopping the manufacturers who sell wheelchair vans direct and don’t use a network of Mobility Equipment Dealers. How do you verify that these companies have passed all federal regulations in terms of crash testing the van?I would first contact NMEDA (National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association) and determine what is required. I would then contact the manufacturer of the van you are looking at purchasing and ask them

Why Is The Van Needed
The van is something that is a lot more important than a lot of people think. The van is used for a lot of different reasons, keeping goods cold, keeping tools safe and transporting goods are just some of them. So what would all of these people do without their vans?
If you really think about it, a lot of businesses would not be able to carry on with the business.
The Good Ol Fashioned Delivery Firms
Delivery firms like Parcel Force, UPS and more importantly for the UK, The Royal Mail. You would start to recieve your mail even less then you do now, The red vans the Royal Mail are famous for are certainly needed? They would really struggle to deliver anything at all. It is without doubt that UPS and Parcel Force would not exist as they are the ones that concentrate on the larger packages that the postman on bikes cannot carry.
An End To Music?
Nothing is ever going to put a stop to music as a whole but you would start to see a fall in artists because many of them start out by using a van as it is often the cheapest and easiest way for bands to get around in to begin with.
The Positive Side??
There are so many criminals out there that choose to the van as the vehicle in which to commit crimes with. Is this going to have an impact on crimes that are committed?
Of course the obvious answer to all of this is, why not just drive a lorry? Time and money come into it as you have to take another driving test before you are qualified to drive a lorry. On top of all of this there are many roads in which lorries can not fit down which is one of the many reasons the van came into existance.
Conclusion
Well it is obvious that without the invention of the van some people would be well and truly stuffed.
Small van leasing as well as commercial contract hire and van contract hire have further helped van users to save money when thinking about a new van.
Wrecking A Van
Here is just a small list on the best ways to totally wreck a van. By no means is this article supposed to encourage this kind of behaviour it is only here as a joke and none of these are recommended unless you are a professional in crashing a van.
Think about blowing it up
This is a good starting point as there are so many ways in which you can actually blow up a van! TNT has got to be one of the best things to use for this as you can do it from a distance. If you were to foward this to a television show then it might be worth doing. Other things you could perhaps use include a grenade, machine gun or even shooting the gas tank.
Roll It Over
This has to be the hardest one to do iwhtout getting hurt because you need to be driving to achieve it. There are many movies out there that have vehicles rolling over in them, vans are just one of them. The vans that you actually see roll over are made to do so and by no means should you try rolling a van yourself. If you were to roll over a normal van then it you would certainly die.
Why not drive into something
There are hundreds of van crashes every year on the roads which is why this is the most common and the most dangerous way to wreck a van.So many people have died because of this one for the simple reason that you cannot stop a crash from happening, the others do not need to happen. This is something that should be left to the dummies.
So there you have it, just a few things you shouldn’t do with your contract hire vans. Commercial vehicle leasing and contract van leasing companies would not be interested in giving you cheaper deals if you are planning to do these things.
The real reason you shouldnt try this is because “You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off"!”
Is A Van The Most Useful Thing For A Band To Have?
Next time you are going to a gig in which the band you are seeing are relatively unknown then take a little peek around the back as you will almost certainly see a small van as the band will use this to transport their things. But just how important is a van the group?
Well believe it or not stars will often think back and name the van their best friend in the early days because it got them where they needed to go both on time and for an affordable price. The bigger bands are often seen in the gigantic tour buses for one reason, they have the money or sponorship deals to be able to do it. However many of the smaller bands do not have the money to do this and of course sponsors are only interested in money and will not see a return out of offering a bus to a small group.
Most of the time the van is actually borrowed from a family member or friend of the van but sometimes they all chip in to buy the van outright. Once again is can be very difficult to buy a van outright even if there are three or more people paying for it so more often than not bands will look into van leasing UK because it works out cheaper.
The band then have any damages or accidents covered too so they do not have to take out any extra things they do not need like the band that took out pick up truck leasing just to cover them if the worst case scenario happened.
Although cheap van leasing is likely to be the best option for your band, it is also possible to get a van to run on vegetable oil which of course will save the band on fuel costs. You will need to take at least a trailer full of the oil with you as there are no refuel stations as yet where you can load up on the stuff.
Cartoonists Love Putting In Vans (Part 2)
So on with the next lot of toons that have either driven, ridden or of course been associated with a van.
All of the toons below compete with eachother all of the time and all of them really hate one another, which one do you like to watch. There haven’t been many van appearances in them but when there have, they have been pretty funny.
The Brilliant News Van- Simpsons
Kent Brockman is the guy with the job of having to sit in this van while it goes around to the spots in which the news needs to be reported. Although he doesn’t actually drive the van he has a lot to do with it as the guys in the back are the ones providing him with all of the quirky comments that he apparently comes up with himself.
Police Van With Family Guy
The van has only ever featured in one episode of the series and was used to listen in on a conversation between Lois and an ex. Peter listens in right at the wrong moment and of course thinks that she is having an affair with this guy when in reality it is perfectly innocent. Peter of course is not listening from the start so thinks the worst when in actual fact it really isnt too bad at all.
Anyone For Ice Cream- South Park
For this one I could mention various vans that have been in the series but thought the best one would be this. The van was really only seen once and was used for one of many ways that the show has killed off Kenny.
There it is, the best cartoons vans that have ever come into existance. Let us just hope that these toons looked into commercial contract hire for their vans to save a bit of money. Van contract hire could actually be a better way to use a van as it is a lot cheaper than buying one outright.
