without comments

One thing most people hate to do or neglect is maintaining their car.But when you think about that is not the right thing to do.After all, you spent a lot of money in buying it so you might as well take care of it so that you get the most out of it.  So why wouldn’t you want to maintain it.Especially since not maintaining your car would elad to more expenses rather than make it udergo maintenance regularly. That is in this article why I present to you three tips in maintaining your car.

First of all you have to make sure to get your car get’s it’s oil changed regularly. The oil of the car is just like the blood of the people if our car’s oil is already dirty then the car can’t function well. Generally I tell all my customers of my San Diego auto repair shop to make sure to change their oil every 3000 miles. That would be sufficient enough to keep your car running in good condition for a long time.

The next thing you must do that people often overlook is doing tune ups for your car.It is important to make your car go through regular tuneups because this can detect any small problems and prevent it from getting worse. And you can also replace the important parts of your car if they are getting old already. Customers of my San Diego smog check shop who fail their smog test I always tell them to do this. Most of the time they fail their smog test because they did not make their cars go through regular tuneups.

The third tip I woud give is to always maintain the brakes of your car. They are important for you to look after because they are not only expensive to replace. They are important for the most obvious reasons and that is they keep you from harm’s way.Working brakes can save your life while manfunctioning ones can kill you.  I tell my customers of my San Diego brakes shop to always keep their brake fluid good.

If you just abide by these three tips then you and your car would have a very long partnership.

How to ensure your car will last a long time

without comments

Cars are one thing that almost everybody owns. Not everyone may have a home. But in general, most people need to own a car for many reasons.Living in America it is definitely hard to survive without owning one. With that being the case it is essential to ensure that you make your car last longer.

The main way to do that I tell all my clients of my San Diego auto repair shop is to make sure you regularly maintain your car.It is like going to the doctor for regular checkups. Even though you are well, you are definitely willing to go to prevent any sickness. With cars, it is basically the same thing.  It is much cheaper to take it in to make sure nothing goes wrong instead of waiting.

The first thing you want to to is to make sure to take it in for regular tune ups. When you check all the fluids and spark plugs, they are called tune ups.To make sure that the major parts are running well you also need to do several diagnostic tests.Doing this ensures your car from running well.  It also helps you pass a smog test.  In my San Diego smog check service we always recommend older cars to do regular tune ups.  Because the older your car gets the harder it is to pass a smog test.

Another thing you want to maintain are your brakes to your car.Because brakes that fail are dangerous, this is important. Plus they are seriously expensive to have repaired. It is better to keep in good shape than waiting for it to break, like most things.  All my San Diego brake service clients are given step by step instructions on helping maintain their brakes. This always helps them keep their brakes longer so that they can save in brake replacement.

So to make sure your car lasts longer, here are a couple of ways you can do. Good maintenance in the long run saves you money by having less major repairs.

Ways to maintain older cars

without comments

In this economy more and more people have to make sure things last longer. Those days of replacing old things with new ones are gone. That includes cars nowadays. You have to maintain your cars regularly to ensure that they will last for a long time.Because they wll break down in no time if you do not maintain them.  So here are some key points to take care of with your car.

First of all one of the biggest mistakes clients of my San Diego auto repair shop do is not change their oil regularly. What people don’t realize is that oil is like the blood of your car.Without it your car can’t live. And not replenishing its supply will affect the condition of the car.In the long run, this can remove some years off your car’s life.  If you want your car to last longer change your oil often.

Next thing you must make a point to do is to regularly do tune-ups.Not doing regular tune-ups would result to an engine that does not function well. And this would result to failed smog tests.  In my San Diego smog check shop most of the cars that fail were cars that didn’t do regular tune ups.It can affect the life of your geatly and it is just a simple thing to do.

Last thing would be to take care of your brakes.  In my San Diego brake service business I try to let my clients know how important it is to care for your brakes.  This is one part of your car you don’t want to fail.  Plus it is very expensive to replace ruined brakes.Always see to it that your brake fluid levels are always filled. Plus be easy on your brakes.  Don’t do sudden stops but always prepare for your stops.

Doing these things can ensure the longevity of the life of your cars.

Ways to avoid spending a lot of money on auto repair

without comments

One of the things that people can’t live without is a car.If you think about it, most of the people in modern countries can’t live without it.It is definitely a necessity nowadays. But it is expensive to invest in one as well.  Not just in the price you pay for the car.But also in the costs that you pay in keeping it maintained or in repairs. And if you want to get the most out of your car then you have to keep it regularly maintained. And now I present some tips on how to keep your car in good shape.

First thing that needs to be done is for you to regularly change the oil of your car. Sounds simple but it is so vital.  I try to remind the customers of my San Diego auto repair shop how important it is. By regularly changing the oils of your car will definitely make your car last longer.  But if you neglect it, there could be major damages to your car.  Your car’s engine can get ruined without oil. That is a very expensive repair.

Another thing that not changing your oil can do is cause your car to fail a smog test.If you pair this with not regularly making your car undergo tuneups will lead to an easy failure of a smog check.  It happens all the time at my San Diego smog check shop.  I have people that bring their cars in who never changed their oil. Plus they never did tune ups.So, as a result, their cars ran bad.Their engines also ran badly. That is why they failed their smog check test. But those are just the beginning of the problems. Not caring for your cars the way it was mentioned above will result to major problems.

Finally, you must take care of your brakes. This is another one part of your car that is used always. And also, it is one part of your car that is very costly to repair.  One of the pieces of advice I give to all my San Diego brake shop clients is to take care of their brakes.  Do these things and your car will last long.

Things to do to your car to avoid going to auto shops

without comments

One of the things people hate about cars is the maintenance. It is a hassle to bring it into the auto repair shop.  It is a hassle taking the time waiting for your car to get fixed. And another thing is it costs a lot of money.  What people don’t realize is if they had done some routine maintenance they could have avoided it.They might have avoided the repairs that they paid for.

During my ownership of my San Diego auto repair business I always advise my clients to do regular maintenance.I try to show them that by doing simple things like checking parts of your car you can avoid bigger problems and bigger expenses. But their cars running smoother is not the only benefit that they can get. They will be more happy with the car that they own.  This is all from just taking care of their car like they should.

First thing that they should do is to make their cars undergo regular tune ups.Your engine will run smoother when you you keep your car tuned up.And regular tuneups will also improve your car’s chances of passing a smog test.  One of the biggest cause of failures in my San Diego smog check shop is the fact that people neglected their tune ups.Regular tune ups can greatly help in making a car pass a smog test.

So another one thing I suggest to all my clients is to always check the brakes. One of the most costly repairs people bring into my San Diego brake shop is fixing the brakes.Something as simple as breaks will cost a lot of money for the owners. It can really be costly to car owners if their car’s brake system needs to be replaced. But doing a step as simple as checking the fluid levels will prevent this from happening. Also, make sure to check if there are any noise coming from the breaks.Detecting brake problems at an early stage will lessen the damage and the repair costs.

Doing these few simple steps will enable car owners to save a lot of money on repairs and replacement parts.

Maintaining your car and it’s importance

without comments

One thing a lot of people are unaware of is how important your car’s maintenance is.  We take for granted these cars that get us around wherever we want to go.  We don’t realize that our safety is on the line everytime we go out. Plus they seem unaware to the fact your car is also in danger whenever there is driving done.So the following are two very important auto repair jobs for your car.

First thing doing tuneups is really important to your car’s overall health. What I am talking about is making sure your car is on schedule for regular tuneups. As talked about already, your car is really one of your big investments in life.If you don’t take care of it you are opening it up to the risk of severe damage.  I have seen many clients ruin their vehicle and take it into my San Diego auto repair shop after the fact.I notice that if there was just some routine maintenance performed, a lot of the problems could have been avoided.

Another point to take in is the fact when you do regular tuneups you will also make your car run cleaner. With such a strong emphasis to cleaner air through cleaner emmissions it is really important.  Because if you don’t take care of your car it can run the risk of faiing a smog check.  I have seen older cars that when taken care of pass with flying colors in my San Diego smog check shop by doing regular tune ups.I have also witnessed the opposite way as well.Cars that didn’t have regular care are usually the ones that will fail.

Finally a very important part to your car is the brakes. But most people don’t even give it a second thought most of the time.By not doing a good job of caring for your brakes you are taking a chance of more expensive repairs.  In my San Diego brake shop I see cars have expensive brake repair jobs because they didn’t do simple maintenance. By just monitoring their brakes.Or if they did have some checks performed on it regularly it could have saved them some money.

How to get the most out of your car

without comments

There are some people who love their cars. They take very good care of their cars just like how they take care of their babies. Then there are those people who just ignore it and just consider it as something they use to get to somewhere.  They just use it to get around in.That is a very costly mistake to do for that second type of car owners. And since it is a big investment people should take care of it by maintaining its parts.

As mentioned earlier people spend a lot of money to buy a car.Since they already paid a hefty sum for their cars then they should also take good care of it for it to last a long time.  All my clients with my San Diego auto repair shop know this.I always tell them that they better maintain their cars or else. If they maintain their cars then it would make it last for a long time.By neglecting it they risk the cars and themselves in danger of an accident.

With a used car they should even take better care to make sure their cars lasts.Especially if they don’t know how it was maintained by the previous owner.  If it is an older car it will also come up needing a smog check. If they only start maintaining their cars after a smog test then there is the possibility that they would spend more on its maintenance if it fails the test.  I have seen this time and time again in the San Diego smog check shop that I run.If they just took the time to maintain their cars regularly then they could have saved a lot of money.

Lastly, even if your car is old or new you should take care of your brakes. The brakes are one the most important parts of your car.  They save you when you need to stop.  But they can also cost a lot of money if you neglect them.  Most customers are shocked with San Diego brake shop repair prices after they have failed the test.Once again regular maintenance would cost you little money but it could save you a lot from major repairs.

How the information age affects used cars

without comments

Buy and sell of used cars is a great business during these times. It will be bigger when people are tightening their belts on spending.People nowadays may need to sell the cars they can’t afford. While people needing a car will have to buy used instead of a new car.Maintenance records are very important especially now in the information age.Mainly because used car records can be easily viewed and scrutinized.  Cars maintained better will get more money. That is why it is very important for you to maintain your cars well.

You have probably seen those carfax commercials where a prospective buyer is demanding to see a cars maintenance records. That is something to believe in.As more people learn of this service the would want to avail of it too.So your car must have a good record if you really plan on selling your used car. Whenever I service any client at my San Diego auto repair shop I make sure they always get a record of their service. The number of clients that think that this is not important may surprise you.

It can be very very helpful. For example you don’t want to purchase a car that has not been well taken care of due to stricter smog laws.  I get cars in all the time while checking them at my San Diego smog check shop who fail because of improper maintenance. Cars that pass these smog tests are the cars that are usually getting regular tuneups.  Cars that have been neglected are the ones that fail.

Same goes with brakes.  By not maintaining your brakes can turn minor brake jobs into expensive ones.  Just by doing regular maintenance for my clients at my San Diego brake shop I have been able to save them hundreds if not thousands on extra expenses. And it might also save you from safety issues.

So in this age of information where every records can be searched be sure to keep records of all the services that your car has gone through.  It will help you in the long run.

Keeping your maintenance records for your car

without comments

One of the things that a lot of people are doing now is wanting the maintenace records when buying a used car.A lot of people are now interested in seeing if a car has all of it’s maintenance records. Because if you do have someone who did care for their car, you can trust that it should last longer. So if you own a car it is very important to keep all the records of service.Because a lot of buyers will want to take a look at that.

So some things you can do is every time you go in to get service for your car keep a receipt of it.  In my San Diego auto repair business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.Be sure that whatever company you are going to get service from will do the same.  This could mean the difference in getting the price you want or settling for a lot less.

Also, when you have your car taken in for a tune up, don’t forget to keep a record of it.  Getting regular tune ups help keep your car running longer and smoother. It is also beneficial in making your car pass any sort of smog test a lot easier.  In my San Dieg smog check center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.

Finallly even for getting your brakes serviced you want to make sure to keep good records of that service.  This is another key part of taking care of your vehicle. It one thing that a prospective buyer will want to look at.Because the thing that a new buyer is not interested in having to do is go and get some brake service.  So in my San Diego brake shop I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.

Hopefully you fully understand how important it is to maintain your vehicles if you want to sell it.Most buyers now want the car they are buying to be maintained.  By keeping records you can prove that you have been taking care of it.
