5 Money Saving Tips for Car Buyers

Bad Credit Auto Loans Advice. Get a Fast Car Loan Online

Buying a new car will probably be one of the biggest financial commitments you will make in your life. But there are lots of things you can do to get the car you want at t price that you will find affordable.

1) Before you start taking cars for test drives, give some thought to how you will finance your new vehicle. Car dealers will try to temp you with their financing plans but these are often not the best value for money. Shop around and find a financing source that is providing the best deal.

2) Provide as much as possible as a down payment. The bigger the down payment you provide the less you will need to borrow. The more you pay as a down payment then the less interest you will need to pay back each month.

3)    If you have bad credit get a co-signer. A bad credit rating will give you problems when applying for car finance. You may find a source of cost effective bad credit car loans but another option is to get someone with a good credit rating to act as a co-signer in your application.

4)    Get the most you can for your old vehicle. Trading in your current car can give you a good deal and save you the headache of selling your current car. Get the most you can for your old car by giving it a good clean, making certain it is serviced and that you have the service history.

5)    Shop around, haggle and consider alternative financing options. The current recession means that there are some exceptional new car bargains to be had. Car sales people want your business so you can use this to your advantage. And don’t overlook other financing options. Car leasing is a great way to get the car that you want for a reasonable down payment and affordable monthly repayments. If you are looking for a commercial vehicle you might want to consider van contract hire to provide your business with what the transport you need.

Your GPS Unit’s Not Complete Without the Right Software

without comments

When consumers submit reviews on the vaious GPS units from the major brands, they appear to focus primarily on the technical aspects of the device; the overall look, speed and accuracy, and the user-friendliness of the unit. What these reviews normally ignore, though, is the GPS Software which is required in order for the GPS unit to interface with the Windows or Mac systems effectively. GPS software is needed for functions like synchronizing and retrieving new and updated maps and POI’s to your GPS device. As with normal software, GPS software which is overly bloated should be avoided. Appreciating the different GPS software may not be the bit of information that moves you to purchase one given brand, but understanding the supporting software is important after you already set your eyes on one GPS device. The types of GPS software are going to often be practically identical for various models within a manufacturer’s brand. A nice model to look into is the Garmin Nuvi 465t Truck GPS Navigator.

Garmin Nuvi Software

Garmin Nuvi markets a respectable range of different GPS software that you can buy from their main website. Software updates could be downloaded by you or through another bit of software called WebUpdater. When you want to make WebUpdater run, users simply need to attach the GPS unit and follow the easy wizard steps. You may additionally find quite a few mapping programs made to support both Windows and Mac platforms. There is even a particular section only for Mac users to help them make the most out of their Garmin Nuvi GPS devices.

TomTom HOME

The TomTom HOME allows you to search your GPS unit for applicable software and add upgrades as required. Beyond some basic abilities to include transferring maps, TomTom HOME also allows software owners to download files which are installed in the TomTom, then change and download those new programs to form original themes, giving your TomTom a more personal look. Adding to that, TomTom even managed to manufacture software for mobile phones, nearly all of which has been out of production for awhile. Fortunately there is still an application that supports an iPhone 3G.

Magellan Software

Magellan is thought to have the well-known image of selling reasonably priced goods, but you can now find a lot of software that is available to be downloaded without payment, including two individual versions; VantagePoint and MapGuard. VantagePoint is a great application made to transfer all the GPS functions to your desktop monitor. Each of the maps, roads, directions, and waypoints are displayed and all maps can be browsed with both the 2D and 3D effects.

MapGuard is Magellan’s other program and includes MapSend Manager as well as Mapsend Lite. The MapSend Lite is a powerful application that can see any map on your PC, allowing you to add waypoints and plan courses. MapGuard also support Geocaching, and the consumer can even convert distances and speeds into many different formats. A great unit to consider is the Garmin Nuvi 465t Truck GPS Navigator.

Judging Each Application

Please remember that, GPS software ought not be the single reason in deciding on your new GPS device. GPS software is  only marketed to support their GPS systems and achieve that product’s maximum capabilities. Out of the ones reviewed here, TomTom HOME easily outdistances the rest because of your option to personalize the user interface. Certain kinds of software can also be ”test driven” even if you have not yet purchased a corresponding GPS device.

Gifts For Your Petrol Head Male or Female Friends

without comments

Auto gadgets and gismos are big business these days. There are a whole variety of toys and accessories that are intended to make you car more functional or just add a bit of character to your wheels. Below are some details of four fantastically new guys and girls car toys.

Variable heated seats. When your in a car, especially for long periods of time, being uncomfortable or cold is never a nice experience. Heated seats have been around for a little while now, but the latest generation allows you to vary the heat for different body parts. For example, you might have a sore point on your back you want heating up, but you don’t want your legs to be too hot, well now that’s possible. These make ideal Christmas presents as well as they are perfect for winter months.

360 TV. Men and TV go very well together. That said, they cannot enjoy it whilst driving around as men are terrible at multi tasking, as well as the fact it is very illegal. They need not suffer any longer though, as now you can get CCTV of 360 degrees around the car routed in to the dashboard from cameras mounted very subtly all around the exterior.Checking out other cars and reversing round corners is now simple as pie.

Beauty mirror
. Probably more gifts for girls these things, rear-view mirrors that flip over to reveal a magnifying mirror, perfect for checking the makeup and applying lipstick. However, even if you are the most attractive person on the planet, you should always pull over before using this mirror (you want to keep your looks don’t you).

Multi-sound horn
. Pretty much every man alive wishes he had a super car or better yet an attack helicopter to travel to work in. Unfortunately, unless you’re a millionaire or a helicopter pilot, you’re going to have to settle for a multi-effect car horn. These brilliant gifts for men can replicate over 100 cool sounds, including explosions, super car sounds and animal noises. In some areas these may not be entirely road legal, but that doesn’t mean you can drive up and down your drive, scaring the skin off your cat and neighbours with it.

History of the Volkswagen

without comments

It was Ferdinand Porsche who was the founder of Volkswagen.

It is said that he was indeed a technical genius and was employed by a big number of car companies eg Austro-Daimler, Mercedes, Daimler-Benz to name but a few.

In 1930 he decided to open his own design bureau. In 1931 he asked his team of staff to start designing a motor car with a water cooled 3 cylinder engine. This should also have independent suspension and be able to accommodate 4 adults. The main aim was to keep the costs as low as possible to make it affordable to the masses.

In 1932 he found a partner in Zundapp. Originally there were three prototypes were produced using his original design which was equipped with a new engine. Unfortunately however the engine turned out to have a severe cooling problem and melted after 10 minutes of running. Zundapp decided to discontinue the project.

NSU a motor cycle manufacturer decided to join forces and a completely new cooled four cylinder engine was built. The engine was placed in the rear of the car to avoid the traditional transmission with a separate gear box, drive shaft and rear axle. Unfortunately due to the economical climate in Germany at that time NSU decided to withdraw and Porche was once again on his own.

In 1933 at the Berlin Motor Show Hitler announced his plan to produce a small car for the people of Germany. Porche and Hitler joined forces and a contract was signed in 1934. The prototypes were to be built by the RDA, which was the German Auto Manufacturers Association. RDA were shortly to realise that this project had a chance to be successful and this they did not want. They deliberately delayed the project which made Porsche miss his deadline and thus made him lose his contract. Hitler however realised this and placed the entire project under government supervision. The three prototypes were delivered in October 1936.

To this day the VW has remained almost the same in design. It has a reputation for being a highly reliable car and indeed Volkswagen van leasing is a very popular choice as they have such a solid history behind them.

See the Silverado for Yourself

without comments

The number of pickup wagon models are continually inflating as time passes by.  As a matter of fact, one of the most recent models for pickup trucks today is the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado.  This model is really perceived to occupy the world market in the early part of 2009.  Sadly, its manufacturer, General Motors encountered some problems and as a result, the releasing of Silverado has been quite deferred.  At any rate, it is already apparently available in the market at the moment.  Therefore, lots of car users all around the world are by now happy about it.

The 2009 Silverado is said to be akin to that of the previous versions of Silverado from Chevrolet.  It is just that this latest model is being powered by a state-of-the-art diesel engine, which is the V8 turbo.  It comes in three various styles too specifically, the regular, extended, and the crew taxi style model.  The regular cab style model essentially has a three-seating capacity.  On the other hand, both the crew and extended taxi style models have the ability to accommodate up to six passengers.  The sole difference is that the extended cab style has side-hinged doors that can’t freely unlock the fronts.  Moreover, the all-new Silverado also offers two categories of interior designs, which are the pure pickup and the luxury provoked designs.  You can select any of these kinds of designs that you would like.  You just need to make efforts to select the design which reasonably suits your general personality to have some exclusiveness in your car.

Indeed, the 2009 version of Chevrolet Silverado is the most recent model of pickup van today.  It may appear to be like the other versions of Silverado but it certainly has traits which make it truly notable, some of which have something to do with its engine and interior design.  Therefore, it is just quite safe to state that the fresh Silverado of Chevrolet is a good model of auto to have at this very moment.

One of the most iconic cars ever created

without comments

The Pontiac Firebird is maybe one of the most iconic cars ever made, thanks to various pop culture references connected to it.  It was first manufactured in 1967 by Yank automaker General Motors, through their Pontiac division.  The firebird was introduced together with its cousin in the GM family, the Chevrolet Camaro, with which it shared a platform.  As with its rivals, it was introduced head-on with the Mercury Cougar of Ford.  The engines powering the Firebird from the start and for almost all of its existence till its last year in 2002 were V8 engines.  First, Pontiac engines powered it up to 1982 when GM engines were used.  Since its last appearance in 2002, no efforts have been made to revive the line.  The chance of a Firebird revival has further been made impossible by the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand after 2010.  This is despite the revelation that the Chevrolet Camaro will make a return for the 2010 model year.

The 1st generation of Firebirds was available from 1967 till 1969 and was assembled in Pontiac facilities in truck Nuys, California and Norwood, Ohio.  It was available in 2-door coupes and convertibles.  In 1969, a Trans-Am package for the Firebird was introduced, which only furthered the admiration for the ar.  A Trans-Am package featured upgraded suspension, handling, and hp.  Cultured differences with the Trans-Am package include fog lights, wheels, hoods, and spoilers.  The second generation of Firebirds and Trans-Ams from 1970 to 1981 was responsible for cementing the brand in American pop culture.  The 2-door convertible was dropped.  The second generation car was seen in the films Smokey and the Bandit, Hooper and Smokey and the Bandit II.  The 3rd generation, which was available from 1982 until 1992, was featured in the movies Alphabet City and Smokey and the Bandit Part three.  The TV show Knight Rider featured a talking automobile, KITT, which was basically a modified Trans-am of the 3rd generation.  Unfortunately, declining sales made General Motors can the brand, with the Pontiac GTO replacing it.

What are the most expensive and fastest cars in the world? To find out, visit thesupercars.org and check it out for yourself. Also, have a look at ball joint for Pontiac Firebird.

Introducing the Nissan Sentra

without comments

Eastern auto makers Nissan Motors produced a compact automobile called the Nissan Sentra as early as 1982.  In fact this line was actually the Nissan sunny that was rebadged for export.  Thus, the name’Sentra’ is only used outside Japan, while the name’Sunny’ is only known within Japan.  In the united states market, the Nissan Sentra is the vehicle manufacturer’s line of compact automobiles.  A base model for the Sentra is at present priced in the region of $15,000.  The luxurious mode in the meantime, fetches for a minimum of $21,000.  Thru the generations, the Sentra has developed and gained a lot of mass.  Nowadays, it is not an entry-level automobile anymore, as this difference has been handed to the Nissan Versa.  The US EPA has rated the existing Sentra generation as medium sized car, not a compact anymore, thanks to the volume of its interior.  The first generation of Maximas, made available from 1983 to 1985 came in various body styles : 2-door sedan , 3-door hatch , 3-door coupe, 4-door sedan , and 5-door station truck .  Its engine was either a 1.5L E15 ( s ) I4, a 1.6L E16 ( s ) I4, or a1.7L CD17 diesel I4.  Transmissions included 4 speed or 5-speed manual or 3-speed automated.

since that point, 5 generations of Sentras have been introduced to the general public : the second or the B12 generation ( from 1985 to 1990 ) ; the 3rd or B13 generation ( from 1991 to 1994 ), which introduced the sporty 2-door SE-R model ; the 4th B14 generation ( 1995-1999 ) which introduced varied trims : Base, XE, GXE, GLE, SE and SE Limited ; the fifth or generation ( 2000-2006 ) which introduced torsion beam setup instead of an independent rear suspension.  The existing 6th or B16 generation has been available since 2007.  Introduced at the northern US world vehicle Show in Jan of 2006, this was the Sentra generation that was graded by the US EPA as a mid-size automobile.  Certain classy and technol9ogiical advances will be introduced in its 2010 model.
